Paediatric Emergency Department Nurse Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Paediatric Registered Nurse to join our dynamic team in the Emergency Department. As a Paediatric Emergency Department Nurse, you will provide high-quality care to children and their families, working in partnership with patients and their carers to ensure their views are taken into account.

The department is supported by designated Practice Development Nurses and a dynamic team of Clinical Practitioners who will support you in developing your knowledge and skills, including PILS, NLS, EPALS, Cannulation & Phlebotomy, Plastering, Wound care and minor injuries.

Main Responsibilities
  1. To provide the highest standard of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care as required within the Emergency Department's Paediatric Service.
  2. Identify the psychological, social, physical and cultural needs of children and their families and act, with guidance, to meet their needs.
  3. Work in partnership with patients and their carers in decision making, ensuring their views are taken into account.
  4. Recognise own limitations to practice guided by the NMC Code of Conduct, Scope of Professional Practice, Trust Policies and Procedures.
Requirements
  • RSCN or RN (Child)
  • Previous experience with looking after acutely unwell children
Skills and Experience
  • Up to date paediatric and adult basic life support
