Senior Structural Design Engineer

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Structural Design Engineer to join our dynamic business as the technical and operational lead for our northern design team.

This role will be instrumental in the growth of the company and supporting the growth of the northern design team. The successful candidate will be passionate about digital technology and its benefits to the profession, actively encouraging staff to bring forward new ideas to shape our future.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operational and technical lead for the design team, including design approvals, coaching, and mentoring.
  • Delivering design calculations for buildings insurance claims, including subsidence, fire, impact, flooding, and storm damage.
  • Completing site visits for residential and commercial building projects.
  • Delivering small to medium design projects.
  • Assisting with business development to drive growth of the team, including the development of the design team.
  • Developing new ideas to help shape the future of the business.
Requirements:
  • Good degree in Civil and/or Structural Engineering (essential).
  • Several years post-graduate design experience (essential).
  • Proficiency in IT systems (essential).
  • A general understanding of building structures and materials, including steel, masonry, concrete, and timber (essential).
Attributes and Skills:
  • Excellent communication skills, ensuring great customer service.
  • Car owner and UK driving licence, able to travel to site.
Systems Capability:
  • All aspects of Microsoft Office.
  • Industry-standard structural design software, such as TEDDS.
  • Proficient in the use of AutoCad/Revit.
