Job Title: Principal CDM Designer

We are seeking a highly experienced Principal CDM Designer to join our team at Skilled Careers. As a Principal CDM Designer, you will be responsible for ensuring that our projects are delivered safely and efficiently, while also meeting the required health and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered in accordance with the UK Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015.
  • Develop and implement health and safety strategies for all projects.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation plans to minimize risks.
  • Collaborate with designers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure that health and safety requirements are met.
  • Provide training and guidance to project teams on health and safety procedures.
Requirements:
  • At least 5 years' experience in a similar role with a focus on Construction Design Management.
  • Experience working on projects largely led by MEP services.
  • Data Centre and/or large-scale infrastructure project experience.
  • Knowledge of MEP building services would be useful.
  • NEBOSH Diploma essential.
  • Ideally to have working knowledge and experience of the UK Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015.
  • Understanding of risk assessment and mitigation methods.
  • Knowledge of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Presentation and training skills.
  • Fluent English speaker (essential) with other language skills (desirable).
  • Knowledge of Mechanical and Electrical building systems preferred.
  • Ability to coordinate with designers and contractors.
  • Delivery of contract and program management - managing contractors' progress, information, and document flow.
  • Ability to use IT-based calculation and spreadsheet software.
