Our client, a leading civil & structural engineering consultancy, is seeking a talented Civil Design Engineer to join their dynamic team. You will play a key role in the design and delivery of diverse projects across various sectors, including commercial, retail, residential, and education.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the civil engineering design process for projects ranging in scale from small to large.
  • Design infrastructure solutions, encompassing SuDS drainage systems, road build-ups, and hard landscaping schemes, primarily within London and throughout the UK.
  • Collaborate effectively with statutory bodies such as Thames Water, Local Highways Departments, Local Authority SuDS Officers, and the Environment Agency.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in utilizing industry-standard technical analysis and design software, including Windes MicroDrainage, Civils 3D / PDS, and AutoCAD.
  • Ensure consistent quality and accuracy of technical deliverables (drawings, reports, etc.).
  • Participate actively in design meetings, site inspections, and client interactions.
  • Provide guidance and support to colleagues, clients, contractors, and other designers.
  • Manage projects within agreed budgetary constraints and timeframes.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Minimum 1+ years of relevant industry experience in drainage, highways, or infrastructure sectors.
  • Chartered or near-Chartered status (MICE) is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with key industry standards and regulations, including Sewers for Adoption (7th Edition), CIRIA SuDS Manual, The National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF), DMRB / SHW.
  • Experience in designing roads for Section 38 / 278 works, drainage systems for S104, S185, and S106 approvals.
  • Proficiency in software applications such as Microdrainage, AutoCAD (including Civils 3D & Vehicle Tracking).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong numerical abilities.
