Job Description

We are seeking an experienced High Voltage Engineer to join our UK Operation and Maintenance team as a Site Technician. The role involves carrying out reactive and preventative maintenance on high voltage networks and equipment, as well as supporting the wider O&M team with low voltage and solar maintenance activities.

The UK O&M team was established in 2019 to provide best-in-class service to Low Carbon-owned assets. We believe in creating the right environment, providing training and support, and empowering our team members to make informed decisions and take appropriate actions based on relevant scenarios and operating conditions.

The ideal candidate will be based from home and preferably located in the Essex or Hertfordshire regions or adjacent areas. Working from our offices in London, Gloucester, or Exeter will be required at times.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operation, maintenance, fault finding, and repairs on electrical systems associated with high voltage private generator connections
  • Senior authorized person duties up to 33kV
  • Carrying out due diligence paperwork and documentation reviews and inspections
  • Compliance with legislation, policies, and H&S
  • Producing technical maintenance reports
  • Mentoring and training colleagues
  • Undertaking appropriate training
Solar and Low Voltage Operation and Maintenance
  • Supporting preventative maintenance activities to operational sites
  • Supporting reactive maintenance activities to operational sites
  • Plant monitoring and analysis (support to monitoring team)
  • Assisting with system upgrade works
  • Supervising and managing contractors as necessary
Requirements
  • Educated to degree level in electrical engineering or equivalent formal training in electrical engineering and maintenance
  • Experienced in the installation, testing, and maintenance of high voltage electrical systems
  • High level of electrical engineering knowledge
  • SAP authorization up to 33kV, or willingness to undergo relevant training
  • Competent in quality standards, best practices, technical specifications, and regulatory requirements
  • A self-starter with a passion for the renewable energy industry, desire for success, and willingness to challenge the status quo to maximize asset potential
  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to build rapport quickly and develop long-term relationships with all stakeholder groups. Excellent communication skills and ability to engage with all stakeholder groups, including OEMs and contractors
  • Full UK driver's license
  • Existing right to work in the UK (we cannot provide VISA sponsorship)
