About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Child Therapist/Counsellor to join our team at ABL Health Ltd. As a key member of our Specialist Weight Management Service, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality therapeutic interventions to children and young people in Nottinghamshire.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver effective individual child interventions to help clients prepare for specialist weight management programmes and physical activity interventions.
  • Provide systemic child therapy, employing evidence-based methods, and work in ways sensitive to the needs of children from diverse backgrounds.
  • Contribute knowledge, skills, and ideas to optimise the outcomes of specialist weight management programmes and physical activity interventions.
  • Participate in multi-agency meetings, child protection case conferences, and reviews, providing professional advice on individual care programme planning and clinical matters.
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure the successful operation of therapeutic provision within the service.
Requirements
  • Relevant professional qualification at degree level, e.g., in social work, nursing, psychology, or other relevant field.
  • Registered accredited member of a professional body, such as AFT, BABCP, BPS, BACP, or UKCP.
  • Experience of delivering child and young person therapeutic interventions and facilitating psychological assessments and formulating.
