We are seeking an experienced Planning Manager to join our team at Vistry Group, a leading provider of affordable mixed-tenure homes. As a key member of our development team, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our business.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement planning strategies to drive site development and residential growth
- Lead and manage a professional consultant team to promote sites and secure planning approvals
- Engage with stakeholders and Local Planning Authorities to ensure successful project outcomes
- Collaborate with colleagues and partners to deliver viable and commercially viable developments
- Manage the submission of planning applications and navigate the determination process
- Provide detailed handovers to the delivery team upon successful planning determinations
- Identify and mitigate risks, and work with colleagues and stakeholders to manage risk pre-start of each phase
- Architecture or Planning Degree, or relevant experience in the industry
- Experience working within a residential house builder in a planning capacity
- Experience in people management and project leading
- Able to influence and persuade others to their point of view
- Capable of implementing change and using initiative
- Resilient, positive, confident, and assertive but diplomatic
- Strong mathematical ability
- Able to manage and lead a team
- A good communicator and listener
- An awareness of the social and environmental impact of your work
- Accurate with an eye for detail
- Capable of strategic vision
- Decision making/problem solving/multi-tasking
- Able to work under pressure, and accept criticism of work
- Willing to work extra to meet deadlines as and when the business needs require it
- MRTPI qualified
- Achieved or working towards part 3 architect accreditation
- Achieved or working towards a BSc or an NVQ in Architectural Technology
- Membership of the CIAT or RIBA
