Job Summary

The Shetland Islands Council is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to fill the role of Supervisory Assistant - Pupil Welfare. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety, welfare, and good conduct of pupils during the break period.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise pupils in the dining hall, playground areas, and school premises to maintain good order and discipline.
  • Assist in the implementation of practices and procedures for pupil supervision, as designated by the local authority.
  • Perform ancillary duties, such as cleaning up spillages and ensuring tables are clean, to maintain a safe and healthy environment.
  • Collaborate with the head of establishment and other designated officers to ensure effective pupil supervision.

Requirements

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve common goals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with pupils, staff, and parents.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
