Job Overview

We invite you to join Ingersoll Rand as a Service Engineer, where you will be integral to the mechanical repair, maintenance, installation, and commissioning of rotating plant machinery for our varied clientele. This role emphasizes mechanical expertise, with additional benefits for candidates possessing electrical or control system knowledge.

Key Responsibilities

Execute mechanical repairs, maintenance, installation, and commissioning of rotating plant machinery, particularly blowers and vacuum pumps. Carry out comprehensive site assessments for equipment upgrades and maintenance needs. Comply with environmental, health, and safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment. Engage in on-site activities across multiple industries, performing routine maintenance and complex fault diagnosis and resolution. Act as the company representative in discussions with site engineers and management. Complete essential documentation, including service reports and Risk and Method Statements. Promptly report any hazards, accidents, damages, or defects. Travel throughout the UK and occasionally work away from home, both independently and as part of a team.

Essential Qualifications

Valid, clean Driving Licence Recognized engineering apprenticeship Minimum GCSEs in Mathematics and English Familiarity with health and safety regulations relevant to mechanical engineering Proficient computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office applications Basic electrical or control experience is advantageous

Travel & Work Requirements

This position necessitates regular travel throughout the South of England, including visits to the depot.

Strong organizational skills and punctuality. Recognized engineering apprenticeship. Comprehensive competence in mechanical engineering. Customer-oriented with a commitment to delivering high service standards. Willingness to travel within the UK and occasionally work away from home, both independently and collaboratively. Ability to work autonomously and manage tasks in remote locations. Diplomatic and proactive in problem-solving.
