About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled CAD Technician to join our team in the UK. As a CAD Technician, you will be responsible for generating design data to aid the introduction of special purpose tools and fixtures for assembly processes within our Final Assembly Line (FAL). You will also support concepts for future business improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpretation of design data to generate tools and fixtures that reduce Non-Value Added (NVA) activities and improve the capability of the process in line with Safran's ergonomic standards.
- Maintain traceability from design to manufacture.
- Design and liaise with the Safran group to standardize methodology.
- Understand business processes and manufacturing processes within the manufacturing unit and aerospace regulation requirements for all components.
- Problem-solving skills, including working knowledge of A3, 4D, and 8D problem-solving techniques.
- Reporting - Regular and timely reporting of progress via meetings with the line manager.
- Regulatory - Ensure all required statutory and regulatory conditions are met.
- Lean - Understanding of modern manufacturing tools and techniques.
- Risk - Proactively manage project risk, mitigating as necessary.
- Progress - Deliverables are completed within the required time scales.
- Cost - Deliverables are completed within the baseline cost plan.
- Quality - Deliverables are completed to defined expectations, with a focus on 'right first time'.
- SHE - The required Safety, Health, Ergonomic, and Environmental standards are achieved.

Requirements
- Strong design and manufacturing engineering background with experience of working with component design and manufacture.
- Engineering accreditation such as an indentured apprenticeship, HNC/HND, or degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Experience of working with Enovia Smarteam, Catia V5, and Excel.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing practices is advantageous but not essential.
