About the Role

Care Concern Group Head Office is seeking a skilled Peripatetic Maintenance Specialist - Painter & Decorator to join our team on a permanent basis. This role will cover 9 care homes across the Glasgow region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Evaluation: Conduct thorough assessments of areas to be painted, ensuring accurate estimates and efficient job planning.
  • Setup and Safety: Safely erect scaffold towers, work platforms, and other support structures to create a secure working environment.
  • Surface Preparation: Protect surfaces not requiring painting and meticulously prepare work areas for painting.
  • Pre-Paint Work: Remove old paint, level surfaces, and fill cracks or holes to ensure a smooth finish.
  • Interior and Exterior Painting: Skilfully paint interior and exterior walls using various tools, delivering a flawless finish.
  • Exterior Coatings: Apply protective coatings and coverings to external walls, enhancing the building's appearance.
  • Varnishing: Apply varnishes to various surfaces, adding a durable and polished finish.
  • Quality Control: Inspect painted surfaces meticulously, rectifying any flaws or defects.
  • Cleanup: Remove tools and clean work areas, leaving the space tidy and organized.

Requirements

  • SVQ in Painting and Decorating: A solid foundation in painting and decorating techniques.
  • Proven Track Record: Consistent and successful work history, demonstrating skills and reliability.
  • Independent Worker: Ability to work independently, managing tasks with precision and care.
  • Good Communicator: Effective communication skills to coordinate with team members and understand care home needs.
  • Experience in Care Homes: Experience working in care homes or large units is beneficial, helping adapt skills to our specific environment.
