Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulating robust sourcing strategies that align with the overarching Infrastructure Construction Strategy
  • Providing effective leadership and direction, fostering an environment conducive to team success
  • Overseeing the procurement process, including the development, evaluation, and awarding of tender packages
  • Managing Framework Agreements and monitoring the commercial performance of contractors, while nurturing relationships with strategic suppliers and stakeholders
  • Negotiating and finalizing contracts with external suppliers, ensuring alignment with budgetary goals and business objectives
  • Implementing supplier relationship management practices, conducting supplier reviews, and ensuring effective monitoring and management of suppliers
  • Coordinating the end-to-end procurement process, effectively communicating and resolving customer and supplier issues

Required Skills and Experience:

Essential:

  • Extensive experience in supply chain management within the construction sector
  • In-depth knowledge of JCT and NEC Construction contracts
  • Proven experience in developing construction strategies
  • Familiarity with business and procurement methodologies, processes, and policies
  • Experience in managing contract and supplier performance
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor a team of supply chain professionals

Desirable:

  • Experience on the client side
  • MRICS qualification or equivalent
  • MCIPS certification
  • Background in public sector regulated environments
