RESPONSIBILITIES

Weatherford presents an exciting opportunity for a skilled Welder Tooldresser to become part of our team. This role involves supporting and assisting the Welder/Carbide tool dressers in producing specific products and providing support to service operations.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Fabrication, fitting, and welding of mild steel products.
  • Utilization of hand tools and machinery.
  • Pre and post-braze/weld duties.
  • Execute all functions in accordance with the QHHSE policy and procedures.
  • Maintain punctuality and attendance.
  • Ensure all relevant information and documentation associated with the work order is available prior to commencing fabrication/welding or brazing processes.
  • Verify the Weatherford material specification against the material issue sheet to select the appropriate procedure for tacking and welding.
  • Confirm that welding consumables are correct according to the WPS applicable for the work order.
  • Ensure all WIP material issued by the stores aligns with the requirements of the drawings and work order information sheets.
  • Document all relevant details at the NDT test stage as per the work order.
  • Follow manufacturing instructions as defined in the drawings supplied with work orders.
  • Collaborate with maintenance and report any defective equipment to the supervisor or maintenance.
  • Demonstrate a high standard of safety awareness and housekeeping with the 6S program in mind, including the workshop layout.
  • Ensure all manufactured items are inspected before proceeding to the next operation as per the work order routing and process control.
  • Adhere to ISO 14001 environmental standards, supporting efficient energy usage, waste segregation, and effective reporting of incidents in line with company standards.
  • Assist with forklift and crane operations throughout the facility in accordance with operator training.
  • Understand and comply with Weatherford's Quality Policy and all requirements of the Quality Systems Manual, Operating and Technical Procedures, and Workplace Instructions.
  • Comply with all safety regulations and company policies of Weatherford.
  • Complete work assignments to the highest quality standards.
  • Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by the supervisor within the physical constraints of the job.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Workshop experience in a welding environment is essential.
  • 2-3+ years of experience is preferred.
  • Proficiency in the use of hand tools.
  • Familiarity with a variety of welding machines.
  • Knowledge of various welding rods, gases, and processes.
  • Understanding of cutting torch or torch equipment usage.
  • Knowledge of various temperatures for special materials and welding to engineering specifications.
  • Physical ability to respond to emergency situations promptly.
Hands-on welding/brazing experience would be advantageous.
