Humanities Teaching Assistant Position

Are you a graduate in the Humanities field eager to embark on a teaching career?

An inclusive and nurturing Secondary School is on the lookout for a dedicated Humanities Teaching Assistant to enhance their outstanding educational and support team.

This Humanities Teaching Assistant position entails collaborating closely with the Humanities Department and offering assistance to students across KS3, KS4, and KS5.

As a Humanities Teaching Assistant, you will have the chance to pursue Teacher Training while acquiring invaluable experience within a school environment, which will significantly benefit your teaching aspirations. You will develop a comprehensive understanding of the educational curriculum and various instructional strategies. This role also includes working with students who have SEND/SEMH requirements on both an individual and small group basis.

Key Responsibilities of the Humanities Teaching Assistant

  • Engaging in a supportive Secondary School environment
  • Opportunities for Teacher Training
  • Providing assistance to students during Humanities lessons
  • Supporting pupils with SEND/SEMH needs on a 1:1 and in small groups
  • Compensation ranging from £105 to £110 per day
  • Working hours from Monday to Friday
  • Term-Time employment
  • Long-Term, Full-Time commitment

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • A graduate with commendable academic achievements, such as a 1st Class or 2:1
  • A strong desire to pursue a teaching career focused on Humanities
  • A genuine passion for education and a commitment to positively impacting young learners
  • Previous experience in an educational setting or working with children
  • A solid understanding of SEND/SEMH requirements
