About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Safeguarding Nurse Specialist to join our team at the Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust. As a Safeguarding Lead Nurse, you will play a critical role in providing highly specialized advice and support on safeguarding issues related to Child Sexual Abuse, Sexual Violence, and Domestic Abuse/Interpersonal Violence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert advice and support on safeguarding policies and procedures to all staff within the SARC and wider organization.
  • Work closely with the SARC team to provide safeguarding advice and support for child protection and safeguarding adults concerns.
  • Represent the SARC at strategy meetings where CSA or Sexual Violence are considered.
  • Assist the SARC, Trust, and staff in their duty to protect children and adults from harm and abuse, working in line with the safeguarding principles outlined by the Children Act, Working Together to Safeguard Children, and Care Act Statutory Guidance.
  • Deputize for the Lead Nurse/Safeguarding Lead in their absence for SARC safeguarding issues and represent the SARC at Trust-wide and external meetings.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Extensive experience in safeguarding and child protection.
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding policies and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
