Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Maintenance Engineer Apprentice to join our team at Clayton Glass. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our production plant and equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine maintenance tasks to prevent equipment breakdowns and ensure optimal performance.
  • Identify and report potential safety hazards and implement control measures to prevent accidents.
  • Collaborate with the production team to resolve technical issues and improve processes.
  • Develop and implement improvements to maintenance procedures and spare stock management.
  • Participate in accident investigations and implement solutions to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and follow department procedures.

Requirements

  • Completion of an electrical maintenance/engineering apprenticeship or equivalent.
  • Minimum C&G 2360 parts 1&2 or equivalent.
  • 17th or 18th Ed electrical certification with knowledge of Electricity at Work Regulations.
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades A*-C in Maths, English, and Science.
  • +3 years' experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Electrically biased with knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical fitting, ELV control circuits, PLC I/O logic, basic plumbing, and ARC/MIG/TIG welding.
  • Familiar with industry-standard safety requirements.
  • Ability to read and fault-find from engineering drawings.
  • Good literacy and IT skills (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
