About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Computer Science Tutor to join our team at Durham University International Study Centre. As a Computer Science Tutor, you will have the opportunity to inspire and guide students in their exploration of the dynamic world of technology and computer science.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver highly effective modules at International Foundation Year (Pre Undergraduate, level 3) and Pre-Masters (post-graduate, level 6) to international students studying on programmes offered by the Centre.
  • Develop modules from module specifications, including schemes of learning and appropriate development of learning resources.
  • Prepare module examinations and other forms of formative and summative assessment, marking and providing feedback to students.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of the Centre's virtual learning environment (VLE) and facilitate student access to same.
  • Provide academic learning support to a small number of students when required.

About You

  • A Master's degree or equivalent in a related subject area is essential.
  • A recognised teaching qualification is desirable.
  • Teaching experience delivering Computer Science programmes within a Further Education or Higher Education context is essential.
  • Experience working with international students online and face-to-face is desirable.
  • Able to code in Python, C and Matlab is essential.
