Job Summary:
Gleeson Recruitment Group is partnering with a professional services organisation in the public sector to find a highly skilled FP&A Manager for a newly-created position. This is a unique opportunity for someone with experience in the private sector to bring their expertise to a commercial arm within this organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the Development and Execution of Financial Planning Processes: Oversee the creation and implementation of annual budgets and forecasts, ensuring alignment with organisational goals.
- Provide Strategic Financial Analysis and Insights: Conduct in-depth analysis to support decision-making at operational and executive levels, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities for growth.
- Collaborate with Department Heads: Work closely with department heads to establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial metrics, driving business performance and efficiency.
- Conduct Variance Analysis and Identify Areas for Improvement: Analyse financial data to identify areas for cost optimisation, efficiency gains, and process improvements.
- Prepare and Present Financial Reports: Develop and present regular financial reports to senior management, highlighting key findings and recommendations.
- Drive the Implementation of Financial Planning Systems: Oversee the development and enhancement of financial planning systems and tools, ensuring seamless integration and data accuracy.
- Support Strategic Initiatives: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive strategic initiatives, mergers and acquisitions, and other ad-hoc projects as required.
Requirements:
- Accountancy Qualification: Possess a recognised accountancy qualification, such as ACA, ACCA, or CIMA.
- FP&A Experience: Proven experience in a similar FP&A role, with a strong understanding of financial planning and analysis principles.
- Analytical and Modelling Skills: Demonstrate advanced analytical and modelling skills, with a keen attention to detail and ability to convey complex financial information.
- Communication and Presentation Skills: Possess excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage with non-financial stakeholders and convey financial insights effectively.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with financial planning software.
- Collaboration and Adaptability: Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with a strong focus on teamwork and adaptability.
