Role Overview

We are in search of a seasoned and proactive Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality (SHEQ) Manager to enhance our dynamic team. This full-time role is essential in ensuring our operations consistently surpass industry benchmarks in health, safety, environmental, and quality standards. You will be instrumental in cultivating a culture of safety and continuous improvement throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities

1. Develop and execute comprehensive health and safety initiatives for both the organization and our clients, promoting a proactive safety environment.
2. Collaborate with Contracts Managers, Site Managers, Site Operatives, and other key stakeholders to achieve SHEQ goals and address challenges.
3. Provide expert guidance on SHEQ legal compliance, ensuring adherence to all pertinent regulations.
4. Conduct internal site evaluations and audits, facilitate external assessments, and manage accreditations to ensure compliance with legislation.
5. Advocate for the establishment and maintenance of a robust SHEQ culture within the organization.
6. Formulate and oversee project-specific construction and environmental management strategies.
7. Identify and fulfill the training requirements of staff, ensuring ongoing professional development.
8. Implement and assess quality management systems (ISO), driving enhancements in the organization’s safety culture.
9. Maintain ISO 9001 certification and strive towards achieving ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 accreditations.
10. Prepare and submit entries for external health and safety accolades, highlighting the company’s commitment to excellence.

Qualifications and Experience

- Minimum of three years' experience in a similar capacity, preferably within the construction sector.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- NVQ Level 6 or higher (preferred).
- IOSH and NEBOSH Certification.
- Strong IT proficiency, with the capability to manage documentation and reporting systems effectively.
- Punctual, reliable, and able to meet stringent deadlines.
