We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to join our team at Pertemps Stoke. As a key member of our finance team, you will play a crucial role in supporting both operational and commercial functions to deliver exceptional service to our customers.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide daily support to the Finance Manager, ensuring seamless day-to-day operations.
- Review and challenge outbase reports from multiple locations, identifying and resolving discrepancies to ensure accuracy.
- Conduct weekly reconciliations for payroll, agency, and fuel expenses, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Complete weekly analysis of driver hours for both radial and trunking routes, providing valuable insights to inform business decisions.
- Raise Purchase Orders for the contract as required, ensuring timely and efficient procurement processes.
- Review and analyze operational data, providing feedback to the Finance Manager to drive continuous improvement.
- Process journals at period end to ensure accurate financial reporting, and raise sales ledger invoices at the start and end of each period.
- Provide holiday cover for the Finance Manager, including preparation of weekly customer accounts.
- Studying towards an accounting qualification (AAT, ACA, CIMA, or equivalent).
- Strong business acumen with a willingness to learn and apply new knowledge.
- A high level of drive, energy, and commitment to ensuring contract success.
- A proactive, inquisitive mindset with the passion to challenge and improve team performance.
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining high standards.
- Flexible and responsive to both internal and external customer needs.
- Excellent customer relationship skills, with the ability to build strong working relationships across all levels.
- Proficient PC skills with the ability to leverage IT and systems to enhance operational efficiency.
- A competitive salary of £28,000 PA.
- A Monday to Friday schedule, 9am to 5pm.
- Opportunity for a permanent role based on performance.
