Finance Assistant Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to join our team at Pertemps Stoke. As a key member of our finance team, you will play a crucial role in supporting both operational and commercial functions to deliver exceptional service to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide daily support to the Finance Manager, ensuring seamless day-to-day operations.
  • Review and challenge outbase reports from multiple locations, identifying and resolving discrepancies to ensure accuracy.
  • Conduct weekly reconciliations for payroll, agency, and fuel expenses, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Complete weekly analysis of driver hours for both radial and trunking routes, providing valuable insights to inform business decisions.
  • Raise Purchase Orders for the contract as required, ensuring timely and efficient procurement processes.
  • Review and analyze operational data, providing feedback to the Finance Manager to drive continuous improvement.
  • Process journals at period end to ensure accurate financial reporting, and raise sales ledger invoices at the start and end of each period.
  • Provide holiday cover for the Finance Manager, including preparation of weekly customer accounts.
Requirements:
  • Studying towards an accounting qualification (AAT, ACA, CIMA, or equivalent).
  • Strong business acumen with a willingness to learn and apply new knowledge.
  • A high level of drive, energy, and commitment to ensuring contract success.
  • A proactive, inquisitive mindset with the passion to challenge and improve team performance.
  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining high standards.
  • Flexible and responsive to both internal and external customer needs.
  • Excellent customer relationship skills, with the ability to build strong working relationships across all levels.
  • Proficient PC skills with the ability to leverage IT and systems to enhance operational efficiency.
What We Offer:
  • A competitive salary of £28,000 PA.
  • A Monday to Friday schedule, 9am to 5pm.
