Job Purpose:

To manage the movement of jobs and job cards around the shop floor, ensuring efficient production processes and timely delivery of products.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Update the MRP System: Consistently update the Material Requirements Planning system with individual job locations to ensure accurate inventory management.
  2. Job Movement: Move products around the manufacturing facility from material stage to final inspection and dispatch, minimizing downtime and optimizing production flow.
  3. Inventory Control: Control all materials, tooling, and components through production to delivery, maintaining a high level of inventory accuracy.
  4. Production Scheduling: Work to a daily/weekly production schedule in line with manufacturing capacity and customer demand, ensuring timely completion of jobs.
  5. Collaboration: Collaborate with the Shop Floor and Production Control Supervisor to ensure efficient loading and progress of works to meet target dates.
  6. Stand-up Meetings: Participate in daily stand-up meetings to discuss production progress, address any issues, and align with team members.
  7. Packing and Wrapping: Assist in wrapping and packing of completed goods for dispatch, ensuring products are properly prepared for shipment.
  8. Performance Metrics: Achieve monthly sales targets and on-time delivery (OTD) to meet business objectives.
  9. Process Improvement: Identify areas for process improvements and implement changes to optimize production efficiency and reduce waste.
  10. Bottleneck Identification: Recognize bottlenecks that could delay the manufacturing process and inform shop supervision to address any issues promptly.
  11. Job Progression: Work with Production Controllers to ensure continuous job progression through manufacturing stages, ensuring timely completion of jobs.
  12. Scrap and Quality: Advise production controllers and quality in cases of scrap, ensuring prompt resolution and minimizing waste.
  13. Customer Order Books: Assist controllers in maintaining customer order books, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
Requirements:

A strong organizer with good working knowledge of Excel is essential. Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a manufacturing environment are also required. Previous production control experience is desirable but not essential.

Compensation includes an hourly rate of GBP14.50 per hour, 39 hours per week, with opportunities for overtime. The company offers 195 hours holiday per annum, plus bank holidays, contributory pension scheme, and Private Health Care Scheme after qualifying period, onsite parking, and other benefits.
