About the Position:

As a Corporate Governance Manager at Cedar, you will play a pivotal role in guiding staff on various aspects of corporate governance. Your responsibilities will encompass advisory and compliance tasks while overseeing junior personnel. This position requires collaboration with governance teams across different offices and managing client engagements from inception to completion. Additionally, you will be instrumental in driving business development initiatives, including pricing strategies, proposals, and managing the opportunity pipeline.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary contact for governance compliance and advisory services.
  • Oversee projects meticulously, ensuring timely delivery and client satisfaction.
  • Engage with clients on technical inquiries and manage a portfolio for profitability.
  • Adhere to risk management and quality assurance protocols.
  • Business Development:
  • Lead marketing and sales initiatives for the corporate governance function.
  • Participate in national governance initiatives and cultivate new business relationships.
  • Network internally and externally to identify and pursue new business opportunities.
  • Contribute to marketing efforts, fee proposals, and presentations.
  • Manage and track the business development pipeline.
  • Resource Management and Development:
  • Ensure projects are staffed with qualified personnel.
  • Recruit, retain, and develop team members while ensuring effective performance management.
  • Collaborate with other managers on resource allocation and performance evaluations.
  • Assist in training and serve as a role model for the team.

Requirements:

  • Graduate, associate, or fellow of the Chartered Governance Institute (formerly ICSA).
  • Managerial experience in a professional services firm, publicly listed company, or dedicated governance provider.
  • Proficiency in Diligent Entities (formerly Blueprint) software.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to engage with staff and clients at all levels.
  • Experience in managing and developing team members.
  • Strong project management capabilities and ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge of financial products, services, and regulatory compliance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Desirable Skills:

  • Familiarity with financial statements.
  • Experience in business development and sales.
