We are thrilled to announce an opportunity for a Logistics Operations Supervisor to become a vital part of our team. This position offers a full-time, permanent role within our organization.
Compensation: £29,665 per annum.
Work Schedule: 4 on 4 off, 6am-6pm.
As a Logistics Operations Supervisor, you will oversee the 24/7 logistics functions, leading the team of Logistics Supervisors and assisting the Logistics Manager in maintaining cost efficiency in accordance with budgetary expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborating with the Logistics Manager and Planning Teams to optimize backloads, uncover cost-saving opportunities, and enhance trailer utilization.
- Ensuring effective scheduling and use of drivers and subcontracted transport for deliveries from various warehousing locations.
- Serving as a primary point of contact for resolving inquiries via phone, fax, and email from customers, subcontracted hauliers, and warehousing facilities.
- Building and nurturing strong relationships with team members, vendors, hauliers, and partners.
- Coordinating with the traffic and administration teams to uphold the highest performance standards consistently.
- Identifying and addressing any issues or queries that may arise.
- Maintaining daily communication with operational teams, vendors, and customers regarding changes in network or route plans.
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives aimed at cost reductions through tactical route adjustments.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in transport and office settings, demonstrating a robust understanding of logistics operations in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in developing transport policies and strategies, along with expertise in master planning and familiarity with transportation and planning systems.
- CPC National certification is desirable but not mandatory.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent planning and organizational skills, with a high level of numeracy.
- Outstanding communication abilities to convey precise information effectively.
- Proficient in IT, including Microsoft Office applications.
