Electronic and Electrical Maintenance Engineer

We are seeking an enthusiastic Electronic & Electrical Engineer to join our client's team in Mildenhall, Suffolk. As a key member of the engineering team, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical and electronic control systems, instrumentation, and PLC controllers.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Install new and existing equipment, including electrical and electronic control systems.
  2. Support the Department Head with maintenance tasks for all departments in the group.
  3. Quickly respond to machinery breakdowns using fault-finding techniques, PLC software, and test equipment.
  4. Program and update PLCs, upgrade control panels for automated systems, with experience in Allen Bradley and Mitsubishi systems being a plus.
  5. Assist production teams to meet targets by carrying out planned maintenance.
  6. Suggest improvements and cost-saving ideas for all engineering activities.
  7. Record all maintenance tasks using the Maintenance software.
  8. Assist or supervise service engineers/contractors when needed.
  9. Strong skills in electrical and electronic fault finding, diagnosis, and repair.
  10. Qualification in electrical/electronic engineering or a related field (like Mechatronics) at a minimum of level 3 (City & Guilds, BTEC ONC, or equivalent).
  11. Basic knowledge of electrical control systems, instrumentation, PLCs, variable speed drives, inverters, servo drives, 3-phase electrical systems, and motors (experience with vibration feed controllers is a plus).

  • Qualification in electrical/electronic engineering or a related field.

  • Strong skills in electrical and electronic fault finding, diagnosis, and repair.
