Hewett Recruitment is looking for a skilled Wastewater Treatment Engineer to become a vital part of our team. This position focuses on the maintenance, troubleshooting, and servicing of wastewater treatment facilities, sewage pumping stations, and related systems. The successful candidate will possess a robust understanding of both electrical and mechanical systems, demonstrating a proactive approach and the capability to work autonomously.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform servicing, troubleshooting, and maintenance on sewage treatment facilities, sewage pumps, and wastewater systems.
  • Manage both electrical and mechanical aspects of the systems.
  • Engage with the scheduling team or line manager on a daily basis to report issues and provide updates to clients.
  • Offer insights on parts utilized and work required in accordance with established procedures.
  • Maintain van inventory with essential parts and tools.
  • Deliver on-the-job training as instructed by the line manager.
  • Prepare detailed reports following each site visit.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in the sewage treatment sector or a comparable engineering position.
  • Capability to diagnose faults in various challenging environments.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively prioritize tasks.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Qualifications in mechanical or electrical engineering disciplines.
  • 17th, 18th, or 19th edition electrical qualifications are preferred but not mandatory.
  • Valid UK driving license.
