Key Responsibilities

As an Equity Finance Associate Director at Balyasny Asset Management L.P., you will be responsible for optimizing the financing of the European equity book. This involves monitoring and controlling the daily locate process, sourcing and processing borrow, and identifying, allocating, and executing refinancing, axe, and outperformance opportunities within the prime brokerage and swap network.

Key Deliverables
  • Provide market color to Portfolio Managers, including short interest and corporate action color.
  • Review revenue, spread, and exception reports.
  • Form strong relationships with prime financing and equity brokers across the street.
  • Work closely with all internal groups, particularly execution trading and operations.
  • Assist in driving internal technology, platform, and process developments.
  • Create and develop new trade ideas and structures within equity finance/delta one space.
  • Cover US and Asia desks where necessary.
  • Proactively assist and drive initiatives within the firm.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need at least 5 years of experience in an equity finance or delta one related role. You should have a strong desire to drive the group forward, in terms of product, technology, reputation, and PnL. Additionally, you should have strong existing market relationships and an ability to develop new internal and external relationships. Knowledge of multiple asset classes, including equities, options, and futures, is also essential. Problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and implement appropriate solutions and technologies are also required. Knowledge of coding is an advantage.
