Bench Joiner Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Bench Joiner to join our team at Bennett and Game Recruitment LTD. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cabinet making and woodwork manufacturing, with a flexible approach to working and a keen eye for detail.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work accurately from designs and drawings to produce high-quality furniture products.
  • Set out and accurately size sheet metal materials and solid timber from cutting lists.
  • Effectively and efficiently use traditional woodworking machinery, including planer thicknesser, spindle moulder, wide belt sander, and veneer press.
  • Apply appropriate joinery techniques to assemble furniture from technical drawings.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area, considering waste materials.
Requirements:
  • Experience as a quality cabinet or furniture maker or in a workshop environment.
  • Good knowledge of hand tools, workshop machinery, and safe practices.
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings and an understanding of AutoCAD would be advantageous.
  • Experience working with a wide range of materials, including MDF, real wood veneers, solid wood, and MFC.
Benefits:
  • Salary: £30,000 to £35,000 - DOE.
  • Working hours: 7am to 4pm (42.5 hours per week).
