Job Title: Controls Engineer

Technique Recruitment Solutions Limited is seeking a skilled Controls Engineer to join their team. As a Controls Engineer, you will be responsible for developing, installing, and commissioning high-level PLC, servo, and HMI software, including robotics and all necessary interfaces within the packaging machinery industry.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Design, develop, and implement PLC and servo motion code to meet machine specifications.
  2. Develop and implement robot control code to meet machine specifications.
  3. Design and implement HMI code to meet machine specifications.
  4. Collaborate with other engineering departments to ensure equipment meets FAT and SAT processes.
  5. Develop cost-effective strategies to meet client requirements.
  6. Report problems and deficiencies in design and brief.
  7. Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  8. Maintain competitiveness by ensuring software is produced within indicated timescale.
  9. Ensure technical coordination with all internal and external disciplines.
  10. Maintain files and records throughout contract duration.
  11. Visit customers worldwide to resolve problems and test machines/systems.
Requirements:
  1. Experience in an engineering-related position.
  2. Experience in manufacturing/assembly environment.
  3. Knowledge of continuous improvement techniques.
  4. Working knowledge of Rockwell and Siemens control systems, C#, Visual Basic, PLC/HMI programming, servo drives, and controls.
  5. Experience in programming robotic systems.
  6. Experience of coding and testing machines.
  7. Educated to BSc level or equivalent or proven capability in a relevant discipline.
  8. Knowledge and experience of CDM regulations.
  9. Knowledge and experience of CE technical files and UK/EU standards.
