Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join our partner primary schools in Derby. In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting the classroom teacher by helping deliver high-quality education and care to students. If you have a strong foundation in educational practices, enjoy working with individuals and small groups, and are passionate about making a positive impact on students' academic and emotional development, we would love to hear from you.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons, offering tailored support to individuals and small groups.
- Help foster an inclusive, positive learning environment that encourages active participation and mutual respect.
- Provide one-on-one support, reinforce lesson concepts, and assist students with independent work.
- Collaborate with the teacher to implement strategies for students with special educational needs (SEN) or learning difficulties.
- Monitor, record, and report on student progress, offering feedback to teachers and parents as needed.
- Support classroom management, promoting positive behaviour and consistent expectations.
- Contribute to planning and preparation of resources to meet student needs.
- Offer pastoral care and emotional support, ensuring the social and emotional well-being of all students.
- Maintain open communication with students, parents, and staff to support overall progress.
- Ensure the safety and welfare of students by always adhering to safeguarding policies.
Requirements:
- Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent).
- Previous experience as a Level 3 Teaching Assistant or similar role is highly desirable.
- Passion for supporting the educational and emotional development of young learners.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students, staff, and parents.
- Sound knowledge of teaching strategies and educational practices.
- Understanding of special educational needs, with the ability to implement support strategies.
- Ability to work collaboratively with the teaching team and follow instructions.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to build positive relationships with students.
- Strong organizational skills to manage classroom resources and activities effectively.
- Willingness to undergo necessary background checks, including a DBS check.
