Fletchers Solicitors is seeking an experienced Solicitor to join our thriving Court of Protection Team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for providing deputyship and trustee support to clients with personal injury or clinical negligence claims.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4 years PQE in Court of Protection property and affairs work, including experience of setting up and running PI trusts. You will also have strong empathetic interpersonal skills and the ability to deal with a range of people with disabilities, their families, and care teams.
Key Responsibilities- Running your own caseload of Deputyship and Trustee matters, both pre and post settlement of the PI claim
- Attending clients at their home, or in hospital or in care/nursing homes, to discuss and agree budgets and identify other priorities
- Liaising with financial advisors on investments
- Preparing accurate accounts of Deputyship cases, including forecasts of expenditure on Deputyship and Trustee cases
- Management of Deputyship applications and other associated applications to the Court of Protection
- Delegate and supervise tasks to junior team members where appropriate
- Carrying out staff supervision to include regular meetings and appraisals
- Contribute to regular team meetings and training sessions
- To actively engage in business development plans
