About the Role

Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited is seeking a skilled Maintenance Surveyor to join their team in West Yorkshire. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for delivering a technical surveying service, ensuring the organization meets high performance, value for money, and compliance targets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct annual stock condition surveys to assess property conditions and identify areas for improvement.
  • Provide clear instructions and supervision for in-house maintenance operatives, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  • Raise works orders for both in-house staff and external contractors, ensuring timely and efficient completion of tasks.
  • Produce accurate and concise reports using Office applications and bespoke software, highlighting key findings and recommendations.
  • Manage contractors effectively, ensuring they meet the required standards and deliver high-quality work.
  • Inspect properties, diagnose building defects, and create specifications for repairs and maintenance.
  • Provide accurate estimates for building works, taking into account materials, labor, and other costs.
  • Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of Health and Safety regulations, ensuring a safe working environment for all staff and contractors.
Requirements
  • HNC qualification in building or construction or equivalent.
  • Experience of property inspection, maintenance contracting, and front-line working with contractors.
  • Experience of planned and reactive surveying works.
  • A valid driving license is essential.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to deal with a diverse range of customers.
