We are seeking a Project Director to join a leading firm in the construction sector. This role entails overseeing the management and onsite execution of significant and intricate contracts, typically valued at over £60 million. You will be accountable for safeguarding the company's interests, managing risks, and implementing delivery strategies to ensure the project's commercial success.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with all quality, environmental, and progress standards as per contractual, internal, and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee employee resources, including providing coverage for the site during staff absences due to leave or training.
- Evaluate constructability and identify execution methods that offer commercial or program advantages whenever feasible.
- Engage with executive stakeholders and inform the contract team of any potential legal, industrial relations, safety, environmental, technical, or construction issues as necessary.
- Monitor interim accounts and payments in collaboration with QS and ACCS, assess contract progress and profitability, and report findings with the contract team during monthly cost meetings. Collaborate with QS on Final Account and Loss and Expense negotiations, applying cost-benefit analysis to all activities, estimates, and overall cost forecasts.
Required Qualifications
- Extensive experience in Tier 1 Construction Leadership, with comprehensive oversight of site operations, personnel, and client relationships, guiding projects from inception to completion.
- Degree or equivalent qualification in construction-related fields such as construction management, engineering, or quantity surveying.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a proven track record of reporting at senior management or director levels to both internal and external stakeholders.
- IOSH/NEBOSH certification is preferred but not mandatory; familiarity with CDM/PSCS, BBS, Root Cause Analysis, and S5 & Q10 internal workshops is advantageous.
