Role Overview:

As a Mobile Plant Operator, you will be accountable for the safe and efficient operation and upkeep of site vehicles assigned to you. This multifaceted role involves managing waste flow, loading refuse-derived fuel (RDF), and handling commodity bales. Maintaining cleanliness in your work area is a fundamental expectation.

Mobile plant operations play a crucial role in enhancing the efficiency of Transfer Stations. Taking ownership of various vehicle operations while minimizing downtime is essential for optimal performance.

Conducting preventative maintenance and submitting defect reports are vital responsibilities to ensure timely servicing and maintenance of all vehicles, marking a key aspect of this position.

  • Conduct daily inspections of equipment.
  • Complete daily reporting forms for all utilized equipment, including mileage and service logs.
  • Operate with care, ensuring strict adherence to Health and Safety standards.
  • Manage waste control directly at the unloading point.
  • Maintain cleanliness in both the working area and vehicle cab.
  • Report any accidents or unsuitable waste to the shift leader.

Qualifications:

We are looking for candidates who possess:

  • Experience in Waste Management, Warehousing, or Construction sectors.
  • Mechanical knowledge and expertise.
  • Proficiency in mobile plant operation and maintenance.
  • Prior experience operating a Forklift Truck (FLT), loading shovel, or 360 excavator.
  • A valid Full Driving Licence.
  • A strong focus on compliance and attention to detail.
  • Resilience and the ability to perform under pressure.
