PRIVATE EQUITY PORTFOLIO ANALYST
Maven Capital Partners is seeking a Portfolio Analyst to support our investment team. This position will work closely with the Portfolio Director and is essential in enhancing the value of our private equity investments.
The primary objective of this role is to assist the senior portfolio management team in maximizing value creation within our investment portfolio. This involves monitoring financial performance, analyzing growth trajectories, and preparing comprehensive reports for the investment committee to assess progress. The analyst will collaborate with management teams of portfolio companies, providing strategic insights, challenging existing strategies, and supporting the execution of value enhancement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage in portfolio management activities, including attending board meetings and strategic discussions with management teams.
- Maintain regular communication with portfolio companies to ensure timely information exchange.
- Analyze business growth dynamics through management accounts and board materials.
- Contribute to the preparation of insightful monthly and quarterly performance reviews for individual and consolidated portfolio entities.
- Update financial performance and valuation data on the fund administration platform.
- Assist in drafting proposals for investment committee reviews regarding follow-on funding or adjustments to investment terms.
- Perform additional duties as required by the line manager or leadership team, aligned with the role's purpose.
- Adhere to and promote all organizational policies, including those related to Equality and Diversity and Health & Safety.
Qualifications
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in finance or investment sectors.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to quickly assimilate information and draw actionable conclusions.
- Proficient in Excel modeling.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
- A collaborative team player who can effectively engage with colleagues at various levels.
- Strong relationship management skills for effective communication with stakeholders.
- Resilient and resourceful in navigating complex situations with portfolio companies.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Understanding of business operations and a professional demeanor in interactions with investee companies.
- A degree in a relevant quantitative field.
