Norwich, Norfolk, United Kingdom The John Innes Centre (JIC) Full time
Postdoctoral Researcher Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team at The John Innes Centre (JIC). As a leading international centre of excellence in plant and microbial sciences, we are committed to advancing our understanding of plant reproductive development and its responses to environmental temperature variation.

The successful candidate will work closely with Professor Steven Penfield and his team to investigate how parental genotypes influence the effect of temperature on seed dormancy and germination. Using cutting-edge molecular biology and genomics techniques, you will contribute to our understanding of the complex interactions between plant reproductive development and environmental factors.

To be successful in this role, you will have a PhD in plant molecular biology, with a strong background in epigenetics and next-generation sequencing approaches. You will also have previous experience working in a research laboratory and a proven track record of publishing research findings in reputable scientific journals.

We offer a dynamic and inclusive work environment, with access to state-of-the-art technology and a diverse range of specialist training opportunities. As a Disability Confident organisation, we guarantee to offer an interview to all disabled applicants who meet the essential criteria for this vacancy.

We are proud to hold a prestigious Gold Athena SWAN award in recognition of our inclusive culture, commitment, and good practices towards the advancement of gender equality.
