Clinical Team Supervisor

Fareham, Hampshire, United Kingdom Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust Full time

Position Overview

Are you dedicated to guiding and providing high-quality mental health services?

Do you appreciate a collaborative, respectful, and positive work environment?

We are excited to present a newly established opportunity for a Band 7 Clinical Team Supervisor within our mental health services.

If you are a registered mental health professional, including nurses, occupational therapists, psychologists, social workers, or other allied health practitioners with leadership capabilities and a passion for supporting young individuals and their families, we invite you to consider this role.

As a Clinical Team Supervisor, your responsibilities will be divided equally between overseeing the operational aspects of the team and engaging directly with children and adolescents facing complex and significant mental health challenges. Our service employs a stepped care pathway model to ensure access to evidence-based treatments tailored to the needs of children and young people, which includes group programs, individual sessions, and family-focused interventions.

In return, we offer a service with a proven track record, emphasizing robust evidence-based supervision and continuous training, while prioritizing staff support and well-being. Opportunities for professional development are available, including an induction program for new staff, in-house training, and a commitment to ongoing professional development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a clinical caseload, including complex cases, while supporting team members in their case management.
  • Ensure effective risk management practices are implemented within the team.
  • Exhibit strong leadership and management capabilities.
  • Oversee team caseloads and activities, ensuring alignment with core operational objectives.
  • Balance the demands of management responsibilities with clinical duties.
  • Demonstrate initiative and innovative practices in a dynamic and often busy environment.
  • Provide line management and supervision to team members.
  • Communicate effectively and lead the team with compassion, fostering an innovative and continuously evolving work culture.
  • Monitor and manage performance metrics.
  • Deliver services that maximize clinical and cost-effectiveness.
  • Act as a deputy for the Service Manager in their absence.
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with partners and colleagues, both internally and externally, to enhance our care pathways.
  • Collaborate with peers to drive positive changes and create a thriving work environment.
  • Coordinate the recruitment and selection of team members, leading decisions as directed by the service manager.
  • Respond to serious incidents appropriately and support any subsequent investigations.
  • Address complaints as necessary.
