Key Responsibilities

  • Manage tight deadlines while supervising operational upkeep and repairs, including executing Senior Authorised Person (SAP) responsibilities for issuing High Voltage (HV) and Low Voltage (LV) Permits to Work.
  • Oversee defect management and HV commissioning, particularly for Capital Projects involving electrical contracts valued at up to £20 million.
  • Serve as Lead SAP across multiple operational sites, which vary in size and complexity, and include diverse HV and LV switchgear, equipment, and transformers.
  • Participate in the on-call out-of-hours rota as part of the team.

Work Schedule

Standard working hours are 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with additional standby rota compensation.

All necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), tools, and vehicle allowance will be provided.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Proven experience in the electrical sector, particularly in fault diagnosis on high voltage systems, along with a comprehensive understanding of BS7671 (IEE Wiring Regulations).
  • Must be appropriately trained, qualified, and experienced as an Authorised Person, with a preference for familiarity with water and wastewater processes and their connection to electrical power distribution.
  • Strong team collaboration skills, excellent analytical and interpersonal abilities, effective communication skills, and a readiness to tackle challenging situations are essential.
  • A valid UK driving licence is required due to the nature of the role.
