Test Engineer

About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Test Engineer to join our production team at MSI - Defence Systems Limited. As a Test Engineer, you will be responsible for testing and verifying the build standards and functioning of our world-class products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Test complex electronic and electro-mechanical systems
- Fault finding and recommending corrective actions
- Raise MRBs and close down test operations on our ERP system
- Receive work instructions from your Team Leader and book time to the correct cost code
- Conduct customer witness factory acceptance tests (FATs) in a professional manner
About the Person:
To be successful in this role, you must have relevant experience in a similar position and be able to demonstrate the following attributes and skillsets:
- Relevant experience in a similar role
- Educated to a minimum of NVQ / City & Guilds level 3 in a relevant discipline or completed a recognised apprenticeship
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, wiring schedules, and circuit diagrams
- Proficient in soldering, crimping, lacing, and splicing
- Assembly and testing/repair of PCBs
- Competent in the use of electronic test equipment and able to follow complex test specifications
- Familiarity with a variety of Mil Spec Connectors, Cable Ident, and Cable production techniques
- Good team player with the ability to work using own initiative when required
- Aptitude to produce workmanship to the highest industry standards
