About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Estimating Manager to lead our Asset Cost Capture team and drive the development of cost engineering processes and models that support our Business and Water Resource Management Plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain cost engineering management systems to ensure project requirements are met and quality standards are achieved.
  • Support continuous improvement through cost engineering techniques and processes, identifying inefficiencies and cost optimisation opportunities.
  • Monitor and review data to detect and assess challenges, making recommendations to resolve issues and ensure Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are delivered.
  • Review and analyse economic trends, considering risks and cost implications.
  • Utilise cost methodologies to prepare and maintain reliable and accurate data.
  • Provide strategic information and reports to support wider teams.
  • Manage and develop a high-performing cost estimating team that delivers best practice results and added value.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with the Commercial and Procurement team to ensure strategies are maximised.
  • Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice, cost estimating vision, strategy, policies, processes, and procedures.
Requirements
  • Relevant degree qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant subject.
  • Professional body membership or equivalent.
  • Good level of experience in estimating within the water or utility industry.

  • Highly skilled communicator with the ability to form and maintain good relationships internally and externally.
  • Proven management skills with the ability to optimise team performance and development.
  • Commercial and financial acumen.
  • Highly developed analytical skills.
  • Strong technical mindset and ability to read and interpret technical data.
