Job Title: Support WorkerAbout the Role

We are seeking experienced support workers to join our team, providing vital support to young people with complex health, physical, and learning needs within our children's home.

Key Responsibilities
  • Complete in-depth induction training and all mandatory training, including safeguarding modules and Wales induction framework
  • Follow Salutem policies and procedures, including those concerning the health and safety of yourself and others
  • Provide support to individual young people, attending to their day-to-day needs and encouraging them to access and participate in activities
  • Registration with Social Care Wales
  • Provide high-quality personal care and promote opportunities for independence
  • Encourage socialisation and inclusion, helping young people reach their personal outcomes
  • Understand and respect individual communication needs
  • Produce a safe and stimulating environment for young people
  • Promote health and well-being
  • Attend and participate in handover meetings, key worker meetings, and liaise with colleagues and management
  • Complete key worker activities and responsibilities with individual key young people
  • Work alongside external agencies and professionals
  • Keep accurate records and report on young people, providing effective communication between the home and school
  • Maintain effective contact with parents and guardians
  • Be reliable and flexible, using initiative when making decisions
  • Attend all relevant training provided by the organisation
  • Maintain a high standard of tidiness within the home
  • Undertake sleeping in duties
  • Report to management and perform additional duties as requested
  • Be proactive in assessing and reporting risk
Requirements
  • Has or is willing to work towards the Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare (England) or a qualification considered equivalent
