Lead Environmental Consultant

Position Overview:
An exciting position as a Lead Environmental Consultant has emerged with a prestigious ecological consultancy, committed to employing high-quality scientific methodologies for environmental enhancement. In this role, you will engage in a variety of projects, offering specialized ecological expertise and conducting numerous surveys and evaluations. The scope of projects is extensive, ensuring a diverse work experience, from minor developments with private entities to substantial residential and infrastructure initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
As the Lead Environmental Consultant, your work will encompass a variety of projects and assessments, balancing your time between fieldwork and office duties.
A significant aspect of your responsibilities will involve conducting Ecological Impact Assessments, Protected Species Surveys and Licensing, Biodiversity Net Gain assessments, Preliminary Ecological Appraisals, Habitat Regulations Assessments, and Ecological Management Plans.
Additionally, you will contribute to the development and support of the current team while managing your own set of responsibilities.
Qualifications:
Possession of a Bat License level 1, with experience in Bat development licensing at level 2 or higher being preferred.
Other European Protected Species licenses (such as for dormice and great crested newts) and a solid understanding of protected species regulations would be beneficial.
Proven experience in conducting Preliminary Ecological Appraisals and Biodiversity Net Gain assessments.Demonstrated project management capabilities.
CIEEM Associate or Full membership is required.
A CSCS card is a plus.
A valid, clean driving license and personal vehicle are necessary.
