Job Overview

Finatal is seeking a seasoned Financial Controller to join our team and support the growth of our partner company, a leading infrastructure firm backed by a reputable private equity investor.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Reporting and Compliance
    • Lead the preparation and consolidation of financial statements, ensuring adherence to IFRS/GAAP and meeting the reporting requirements of the private equity backers.
    • Provide expert guidance on complex accounting issues, including revenue recognition, contract accounting, and deferred income, tailored to the professional services sector.
  • Financial Controls and Risk Management
    • Implement and maintain strong financial controls across the organization to safeguard assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
    • Oversee the budgeting and forecasting process, providing critical insights to support decision-making and long-term planning.
  • Accounting and Regulatory Compliance
    • Ensure adherence to all relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements, including managing audits and liaising with external auditors.
    • Identify and drive process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within the finance function.
Requirements
  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent.
  • Significant experience in a financial controller or similar role within a private equity-backed professional services SME.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS/GAAP and experience managing complex accounting issues in the professional services industry.
  • Proven track record in implementing and maintaining robust financial controls in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with experience in presenting financial information to senior management and private equity stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive process improvements and implement best practices in financial management.
