About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Catering Assistant to join our team at Oakwood Grange in Barnsley. As a Catering Assistant, you will play a vital role in delivering a high-quality catering service to our residents, ensuring their nutritional needs are met and their dining experience is enjoyable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve meals to residents in a safe and hygienic environment
  • Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene, adhering to health and safety procedures
  • Minimise food waste and ensure efficient use of kitchen equipment
  • Escalate any concerns or issues to the Chef Manager

Requirements

  • Level 2 food safety certificate
  • Health and safety procedures, including COSHH
  • Previous catering experience, with knowledge of basic food safety and safe use of knives and kitchen equipment
  • Experience of working with older people
