Zenith People is collaborating with a client seeking a skilled and experienced Electrical Maintenance Specialist for a permanent position.

The primary objective of this role is to deliver engineering and maintenance assistance by executing preventative maintenance on plant systems, as well as providing engineering support during regular hours and on-call duties as part of a scheduled roster (with an on-call compensation).


Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform electrical and mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on various plant equipment.
  • Adhere to the facility's Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to minimize unexpected downtime and enhance Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
  • Conduct electrical and mechanical diagnostics, isolation, and repair of machinery.
  • Contribute to the electrical upkeep and operational efficiency of plant systems.
  • Execute evaluations and risk assessments across all plant areas to ensure safe operational practices.
  • Maintain critical spare parts inventory at optimal levels.
  • Identify and engage external resources for routine maintenance tasks or ongoing enhancement projects when necessary.
  • Utilize SAP for raising purchase requisitions as needed.
  • Participate in plant improvement initiatives and propose recommendations to mitigate unplanned downtime.
  • Collaborate with external engineering services as required to ensure the safe and effective functioning of plant equipment.
  • Engage in periodic training to ensure compliance with best practices and current regulations in maintenance activities.
Qualifications & Skills Required:
1.

A formal qualification in Electronic or Electrical Engineering (minimum NVQ Level 3 or equivalent) with a minimum of three years of hands-on experience as a plant electrician.

2.

Proficient in maintaining and troubleshooting equipment such as PLC controls, Variable Speed Drives, Conveyor Systems, and Thermal Processing Equipment.

3.

Possession of City & Guilds 2382 certification (at least 18th Edition Regulations).

4.

Familiarity with the operational requirements within a Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) environment.

5.

Strong communication skills, both internally and externally.

6.

Experience in an on-call maintenance framework.
