Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Primary Industry: Engineering
Salary: £45,000 - £52,000
Job Responsibilities:- Prepare detailed cost estimates for materials, labour, and equipment
- Conduct site visits and evaluations to gather data for pricing
- Analyse blueprints and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labour estimates
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors
- Monitor project progress and costs to ensure budget compliance
- Prepare and submit progress and cost reports to management
- Resolve any discrepancies or issues related to costs and contracts
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or related field
- Professional accreditation (e.g. RICS)
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the engineering industry
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills
- Excellent negotiation and communication abilities
- Proficient in cost estimating and budget management
- Knowledge of construction methods and materials
- Strong understanding of contract law and negotiation techniques
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Excellent IT skills, including MS Excel and project management software
- Office-based work with occasional site visits
- Full-time hours, Monday to Friday
- Travel within the South East England region may be required
