Job Overview

Wood is seeking applications for a Senior Financial Accountant. This role is pivotal in ensuring precise financial reporting and analysis to facilitate effective business performance monitoring and improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee month-end closing processes within the financial system, ensuring compliance with corporate deadlines and accounting standards.
  • Prepare comprehensive monthly management accounts, detailing P&L to Gross Margin, including various cost elements.
  • Deliver insightful variance analysis of actual results against budget and forecasts to aid contract management.
  • Manage balance sheet accounts including unbilled and unearned revenues, ensuring accurate reporting and timely actions.
  • Conduct analysis and reporting on Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) to support cash flow improvements.
  • Provide necessary financial data for Project Governance Reporting and other business requirements.
  • Present monthly financial results to relevant stakeholders.
  • Perform control checks on invoices and guide the billing team on complex invoicing scenarios.
  • Assist in the preparation and analysis of annual budgets and forecasts in collaboration with management teams.
  • Maintain a risk and opportunities schedule to support financial forecasting.
  • Prepare cash flow forecasts and monitor payment statuses, escalating issues as needed.
  • Review monthly reconciliations and share findings to promote timely corrective actions.
  • Identify opportunities for process enhancements and share best practices within the team.
  • Engage with internal and external auditors to ensure compliance.
  • Adhere to all company policies regarding accounting and conduct.
  • Execute various ad hoc tasks as directed by management.
Qualifications
  • Recognized accounting qualification or equivalent experience, with a commitment to ongoing professional development.
Knowledge & Experience
  • Demonstrated experience in accounting roles.
  • Proficient in Excel and familiar with ERP/forecasting systems.
  • Strong understanding of commercial contract principles.
