As a Systems Infrastructure Specialist, you will deliver operational assistance including incident management, change execution, and maintenance tasks as part of an on-site team. Your role will involve proactive oversight and responsive support for Roke's clients' critical secure environments.

Roke is a prominent technology and engineering firm with a diverse clientele across National Security, Defence, and Industry 4.0 through our Futures division and Intelligence as a Service. You will collaborate with our clients to address their intricate and distinctive challenges.

Key Responsibilities

  • Delivering operational assistance, including incident management, change execution, and maintenance tasks to ensure a stable and dependable environment.
  • Executing approved technical requests from end clients.
  • Designing and implementing enhancements to operational and reference platform environments.
  • Utilizing automation to boost productivity and minimize human error.
  • Creating clear and concise documentation.
  • Assisting the Technical Lead with active management of environments and escalating any risks.
  • Proactively monitoring to anticipate potential issues.
  • Engaging in stakeholder management, service reporting, and reviews with Roke Service Delivery Managers and client stakeholders.
  • Adopting and adapting ITIL4 practices for agile platform operation delivery and operational environments.
  • Developing and maintaining service operations in accordance with client and Roke policies, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance with industry regulations and best practices.
  • Implementing agreed changes to service provision, configuration items, and documentation.

Key Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience managing IT operations in complex, fast-paced, highly regulated environments, ideally aligned with national security or defence.
  • Familiarity with some or all of the following technologies: VMWare Suite (ESXi, vCenter, NSX / VCF), Windows System Administration (AD, DNS, DHCP, PKI), Linux System Administration, backup solutions such as Veeam, Docker and/or Kubernetes, and Nagios.
  • Understanding of Networking Technologies.
  • Knowledge of Cyber Security principles.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across all organizational levels.
  • Familiarity with the ITIL framework and ideally experience working closely with DevOps product teams, particularly in the public sector and National Security landscape.
  • Understanding of software development practices and tools used by software developers, capable of supporting those who build and maintain service-oriented architecture and microservices, containerization platforms, and runtime.

Work Environment

You will be based on-site with a customer, with occasional visits to the local office as required.
