Key Responsibilities- Provide senior clinical leadership to nursing and clinical staff in palliative care services
- Advise on strategic directions and service developments in relation to palliative care
- Participate in clinical supervision and supervise clinical advanced clinical practitioners
- Liaise with health and social care professionals to provide specialist palliative care advice
- Act as clinical supervisor to clinical advanced clinical practitioners
- Support doctors in training, including GP trainees
- Participate in weekly specialist palliative care multi-disciplinary team meetings
- Attend relevant meetings and participate in policy development
- Liaise with partners to facilitate effective research and collaboration
- Work collaboratively with palliative medicine medical consultants to ensure delivery and development of specialist palliative care
- Experience of managing complex patients with palliative care needs
- Significant evidence of delivering teaching programs to staff groups
- Evidence of working at a senior level within palliative care
- Experience of leading service design and development
- Evidence of involvement in local and national networks
- Significant experience of leading, training, and developing staff
- Evidence of clinically leading a service
- Evidence of published papers and publications in peer-reviewed journals
- Evidence of excellent autonomous clinical practice, including independent decision-making and problem-solving
- Able to prescribe all core end-of-life drugs and common drugs used in palliative care
- Lead on the implementation of audit and research recommendations
- Evidence of significant involvement in change management
- Competent in the use of IT packages
- Ability and evidence of involvement in research projects
- Evidence of leading research projects
- Published in peer-reviewed journals
- Contribution to academic programs
- Registered Nurse on the NMC Register or Registered AHP on the HCPC Register
- MSc in Advanced Practice
- Non-medical prescriber (for at least 5 years)
- Specialty Qualification
- Working towards relevant Doctorate
