Job Title: Secondary Supply Teacher

We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Secondary School Supply Teacher to join our team at Supply Desk.

Job Summary:

As a supply teacher, you will play a vital role in maintaining continuity in education by covering short-term absences, supporting classroom learning, and fostering a positive learning environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Deliver engaging and interactive lesson plans tailored to the needs and abilities of students.
  • Implement strategies to maintain a positive and productive learning environment, managing student behaviour effectively and consistently.
  • Recognise and accommodate the diverse learning needs and styles of students within the classroom, including those with special educational needs or English as a second language.
  • Monitor student progress and understanding throughout lessons, providing individualised support and feedback as needed to help students achieve their learning goals.
  • Organise and manage classroom resources effectively to facilitate smooth lesson delivery.
  • Clear communication with students, teachers, and school staff.
  • Follow school protocols for reporting incidents, accidents, or concerns as required.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in responding to the changing needs and circumstances of different schools and classrooms.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification.
  • Proven experience working with secondary school-aged children.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to adapt to different teaching environments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility and resilience to thrive in a fast-paced and ever-changing school environment.
  • Knowledge and experience of creating an inclusive environment.
  • Valid DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance or willingness to obtain one.
  • Availability to work on short notice and willingness to travel to different schools within the area.
