Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Health Care Professional to lead a team in our new Surgical Care Centre at Victoria Infirmary Northwich. The successful candidate will be passionate about delivering high standards of nursing care and have excellent communication skills.

Main Duties

The post holder will manage the team's daily workload, including pre and post-operative care of patients undergoing local anaesthetic surgical interventions with all surgical specialities. They will also take an active part in the leadership, education, development and supervision of the team.

The post holder will work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team to ensure that patient needs are met. They will involve patients, relatives/carers in the delivery of care, providing reassurance and support to assist their understanding and co-operation.

Responsibilities
  • Lead upon improvements in care and advancing knowledge within own specialist field
  • Perform comprehensive assessment of patient nursing needs, plan, implement and evaluate care
  • Contribute to the development and management of the team
  • Work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team
  • Involve patients, relatives/carers in the delivery of care
  • Recognise and respond appropriately to urgent and emergency situations
Requirements

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years post registration experience and evidence of working at band 6 level. They will also have experience of leading change and be able to work on their own initiative, prioritise their own work and within a team.
